Some of you already know what life journaling is. For those that don’t, check out this site: http://www.enewhope.org/firststeps/journaling/

Below is my life journal entry from today.

Joshua 1:3 (NKJV) – Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.

Years before, God made a promise to His people. It was a promise that they would inherit the land of Canaan. The promise was Hundreds of years before Joshua’s time. It may have taken hundreds of years for that promise to be fulfilled, but God did fulfill it. In 2 Peter 3:-8-9 it says “…with the Lord one days is a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slack (slow) concerning His promise, as some count slackness (slowness)…” The Lord is a man of His word. If He promises something, you can take it to the bank (although you might be waiting at the bank for a while). The timing might not be what you want or had hoped for, but it will happen.

God has given me different promises throughout my life. Some didn’t take long, others did. Not all of them have even come to pass. I sometimes find myself questioning if they are really from God. I sometimes have a hard time seeing how they can even come about. This verse is a great reminder that God does not break a promise. Humans might be capable of breaking promises, but God is not. It also serves as a reminder to keep trusting in Him, to wait patiently. Then, when the timing is right, God will come through with that He promised.

Lord, thank you for being a man of your word. Thank you for being dependable. Thank you for all of your promises. Thank you for reminding me to hold the course. I pray that I would not let doubt of these promises bring me down. I pray against the enemy who is trying to trick me into not believing they are from you. Please help me to stay focused on you and to remain confident in your word. In your precious name I pray, Amen.
